Our Story
With 850 million Indians residing in villages, the rural economy must contribute $4 trillion for India to become a $10 trillion economy. Yet, current projections show a significant shortfall, highlighting the urgent need for innovative solutions.
Samaagam was born from the vision to transform urban migration from a necessity to a choice, by creating vibrant economic hubs that bring essential services, commerce and entertainment to village doorsteps.

Samaagamâ„¢ Centre
At the heart of Samaagam's vision are active tech-enabled physical hubs in villages which cater to 5-8 villages in their vicinity. They combine physical infrastructure, digital technology, shared logistics and warehousing, and community ownership to create sustainable impact.
Each Samaagam Centre is owned and operated by a local entrepreneur.
Samaagam Centres are designed to be visually inspirational with contemporary sensibilities which blend into the rural environment.

Village Entrepreneurship
The objective of Samaagam is to foster entrepreneurship and create sustainable work opportunities in rural India.
Each Samaagam Centre is owned and operated by a local Village-Level Entrepreneur (VLE), who receives comprehensive support in accessing capital, infrastructure development, business planning, and operational training.
The centres are designed to house 10-12 different businesses providing the core services and create multiple layers of employment - from direct jobs in centre operations to indirect employment opportunities through various services and enterprises.
Through this entrepreneur-led model, Samaagam aims to transform 50,000 villages into vibrant economic hubs, creating over 5 million work opportunities and enabling rural residents to build prosperous futures.
